Foreword .

OR many years this Com-
pany has maintained a posi-
tion of leadership in the man-
ufacture of high grade sheet
metals. Quality has always been
a first consideration. Expert
workmanship, trained technical
staffs andresearchorganizations,
in addition to extensive mill
facilities and equipment permit
this Company to offer products
of the finest grades for the rigid
sheet metal requirements of the
building industry.

No better presentation of the
excellence of AMERICAN prod-
ucts in service could be offered
than the illustrations of many
prominent structures as shown
on the following pages. These
clearly indicate the extensive
use and wide adaptation of sheet
metals as they are found appli-
cable to good construction.

Sheet Metals

FOR GENERAL SHEET METAL WORK:

The products of this Company are specially adapted to the many varied uses in modern
building construction, not only in such familiar applications as roofing, siding, gutters,
spouting, flashings, sky-lights, cornices, and similar uses; but also for

Corner bead, metal lath, moulding, doors, door bucks,
window frames, air conditioning and ventilating ducts,
stair risers, cabinets, and numerous other applications.

As manufacturers of sheet metals, we have actively kept pace with new and improved methods
of forming and fabrication. For example, only a few years ago steel door frames (known
in the trades as "door bucks") were laboriously formed on brake machines. Now up-to-
date factories accomplish this by rapid mechanical forming, with great saving in both
time and expense. It is but typical of the advances made in other forms of sheet metal
fabrication. Our constant endeavor has been to supply black and galvanized sheets and
special sheets that are specifically adapted to the exacting requirements of this constantly
expanding field.

FOR VENTILATING AND AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEMS:

This is an extending and important field. AMERICAN Apollo Best Bloom Galvanized
Sheets, through their ease of fabrication and tight adherence of coating, are notably success-
ful when used for air conditioning and ventilating ducts, and other features of the sheet
metal work. AMERICAN Black Sheets are also widely used in such systems where found
applicable, and with eminently satisfactory results.

FOR INCREASED RUST RESISTANCE:

Many architects, engineers and builders are interested in the matter of increased corrosion
resistance. For uses requiring maximum durability, specify Keystone Copper Steel. This
alloy material offers a superior resistance to corrosion at a nominal cost. Its enduring
quality has been convincingly demonstrated in numerous tests by buyers and users, and
also under varied atmospheric conditions in a series of tests conducted by the American
Society for Testing Materials and other investigators. Keystone quality is supplied in
Black and Galvanized Sheets and Roofing Terne Plates.

FOR TERNE ROOFS, VALLEYS AND GUTTERS:

There has always been a demand for high grade Terne Plates in connection with good
construction. This Company offers carefully manufactured Terne Plates of Keystone
quality, from 8 to 40 pounds coating. We also produce Long Terne Sheets which are
specially adapted to the building field.

j

FOR USES REQUIRING STAINLESS STEEL:

Unquestionably this is an Age of Alloys. The demand in recent years for Stainless Alloy
Steels adapted to the construction field is now very frequently met by our line of U S S Stain-
less and Heat Resisting Steel Sheets and Light Plates. These are manufactured in various
grades for particular applications. Full information will be gladly given upon request.
